Bintu Kabba is the Curator of the Illuminated Goddess Retreat with 19 years of diverse experience as an educational professional. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of adults and young individuals while fostering their growth and development.
She started her journey in education as an assistant teacher at charter schools in Washington DC. This experience allowed her to understand the dynamics of the classroom and the importance of quality and equitable education. Bintu later served as a youth development coordinator at the West Philadelphia Boys and Girls Club, where she had the opportunity to facilitate engaging programs and support the holistic development of young people. Additionally, Bintu has worked with the Epilepsy Foundation of Pennsylvania, where she gained valuable insights into special education, youth and young adult retreat planning, and inclusion practices.
Beyond her professional roles, Bintu also been actively involved in community service. For several years she volunteered in Koforidua, Ghana, where she organized youth conferences and facilitated workshops for teenagers. This experience broadened her global perspective and reinforced her commitment to empowering young individuals worldwide. When she is not working she enjoys writing and traveling.
Her educational background includes a Bachelor's degree from Howard University in Psychology and a Master's in Public Administration from the University of Phoenix. In 2016, Bintu founded Global Youth Consulting LLC, which focuses on adult and youth wellness retreats, community outreach, mentorship, assessment and program development, and educational collaboration. She is deeply passionate about creating positive change in education and wellness, particularly in diverse communities.
Kimeera Jugroop is a highly accomplished and creative PR/Brand Strategist and a passionate educator from South Africa. She finds joy in helping businesses and individuals stand out and shaping the minds of young students to make a positive impact in their lives. As a strategic thinker, Kim is skilled at identifying emerging trends and market opportunities to help clients gain a competitive edge.
She enjoys meeting new people, making friends from different cultures, and socializing. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious, and she always strives to bring smiles to those around her. Kim is also a skilled communicator and relationship builder. She is dedicated to whatever task she takes on, ensuring it's completed with care and attention to detail.
In her downtime, you'll find her watching movies and series, or relaxing by the beach, soaking up the sun and enjoying the sound of the waves. She believes in the importance of balance and always make time for the things that bring me joy.
Mawuena Deegbe is a passionate Creative Director from Accra, Ghana with a love for nature,creativity, and innovation. Her journey as a Creative Director began with her deep appreciation for the beauty of nature and her desire to make a positive impact on the world. Growing up surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes of Ghana, she developed a profound connection with the environment, which fueled her passion for creativity and innovation. With a diverse background in Journalism, tourism, and management, Mawuena possesses a unique set of skills that allows her to approach projects from multiple angles. Her ability to tell compelling stories through various mediums has earned her recognition as a powerful storyteller, captivating audiences and inspiring change.
Driven by her belief in the power of storytelling, Mawuena is on a mission to inspire and connect with others through her extensive network. Outside of her professional endeavors, Mawuena dedicates her time to nurturing the next generation of environmental warriors.
